2023/03 - Dye Strip/Finishing Combo Course (Indianapolis, IN) - FULL

Jordan King and Andrija Malbasa lead a two-day intensive, hands-on dye correction class and a one-day hands-on finishing class. This class introduces chemicals and techniques used to remove dye run and dye stains commonly used in wash plants around the world. Participants get ample time to experience wash floor stripping, spot dye removal, and fringe color correction with reducing agents and oxidizers. As a bonus, attendees leave with a general formulation guide to the products used during the event and a list of various suppliers. The third day is a hands-on course will teach you to evaluate a rug’s condition and assess what finishing procedures will make it look its best! Topics covered: Stain removal, Dry soil removal, Stretching and blocking, Grooming pile surfaces, Shearing, Fringe treatment, and Topical color-run treatments.

Jordan King

Jordan is the operations manager at Oriental Rug Cleaning of Indianapolis and Sani-Bright Carpet Cleaning. Since joining the business in 2009, Jordan’s passion for service has helped fuel their rapid growth. He is a certified Master Rug Cleaner and holds the CRS designation. Jordan has always had an entrepreneurial spirit; through high school and college, he owned & operated a successful recording studio as well as a lawn care business. He has found the networking, education, and friendships formed through ARCS events & classes to be highly valuable. It continues to give him and his team the edge they need to bring a 5-Star experience to their clients.

Andrija Malbasa

Andrija was born and raised in Croatia. With the civil war in the 1990s his family fled to Serbia and later in 2000 immigrated to the United States. He worked as a sales floor manager at Target prior to joining Robert Mann Rugs in 2004. While he began as a driver, he helped with a variety of tasks around the facility. Showing an ability to quickly pick up different skill sets he was later asked to stay at the shop where he has learned and refined multiple skills, washing, finishing, and blocking rugs, finely rising to the level of Operations and Quality Control Manager. He has enjoyed working with Robert on a variety of projects over the years for private collectors and museums, expanding his knowledge of oriental rugs and Navajos.
