Restoration Industry Association Transfers Certified Rug Specialist Certification to Association of Rug Care Specialists

DALLAS, TX. January 4, 2012 -- The boards of directors of the Association of Rug Care Specialists (ARCS) and the Restoration Industry Association (RIA) have agreed to transfer ownership of the Certified Rug Specialist certification program (CRS) from RIA to ARCS effective January 4, 2012.

More than 40 rug care specialists from across the United States participated in Deep Dive at Deep Eddy, the first educational event sponsored by the recently formed Association of Rug Care Specialists (ARCS). The event, designed to be a hands-on learning opportunity for both experienced rug care professionals and newcomers to the profession, was held April 28-29 at Deep Eddy Rug Cleaners in Austin, Texas.

In November 2010, a group of influentialmembers of the rug care industrymet in Dallas to formthe Association of Rug Care Specialists (ARCS), the only trade association focused solely on the rug care industry. Bill Foulds, a veteran rug cleaner and generalmanager of Deep Eddy Rug Cleaners in Austin, Texas,was elected president. Launch New Trade Association

DALLAS, TX. January 11, 2011 — The Association of Rug Care Specialists (ARCS) has been formed by influential members of the rug care community. The international association is dedicated to advancing the art and science of rug care, educating rug care professionals, raising consumer awareness about quality rug care, and cultivating relationships with leaders in rug care-related industries.  It will be temporarily headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
